Designed by Wallace Garcia Wilson Architects, the Speer Boulevard Apartments is a six-story mixed-use podium-type building with ground floor retail, below-grade parking and 221 rental units just south of Downtown Denver’s Capital Hill neighborhood.
Building Science Corporation provided recommendations to the design team at the 50% and 90% Contract Document phases to mitigate the risk of moisture related failures in the building enclosure. BSC remained on board to assist the contractor by observing the installation and detailing of the most critical elements of the building enclosure, and developing enhanced QA/QC strategies to respond to challenging subcontractors and making recommendations to adjust installation sequencing to meet performance testing requirements.
